The Netherlands to Invests 1 Billion Dollars in Indonesia

JAKARTA – BKPM Deputy Chairman for Investment Promotion, Farah R Indriani accompanied the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment to receive a business delegation during the state visit of the Dutch King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima in Jakarta on Tuesday (10/3).

On this occasion, a direct agreement between BKPM and FrieslandCampina was conveyed about their investment expansion plans in Indonesia.

The visit resulted in several business-to-business partnerships totalling ± USD 1 billion, as well as several other cooperative commitments such as cooperation in sustainable palm oil production, cooperation on women’s issues, peace and security, and cooperation in managing infectious disease control.

The Netherlands is one of Indonesia’s important partners in the trade, investment, and tourism. In the European region, the Netherlands is Indonesia’s second-largest trading partner, the largest investment partner, and the fourth largest tourism partner.

During 2019, the Netherlands was ranked as the 5th largest investor country in Indonesia with an investment of USD 2.59 billion after Singapore, China, Japan and Hong Kong.
